Madness
T H E Birdcages themselves were quaint. Zak found himself sitting on the bed, looking through a nightstand, trying to find anything useful. Aaron went throughout the rooms, looking under the beds; he found nothing suitable.
Aaron waltzed into the last room where Zak sat; his face was cupped in his hands and he looked anxious.
This Demon is far too powerful. Zak must be fighting every urge to control it at this point…
Zak stretched his back and peered to Aaron, who was backed up to the door. He did his best not to show any signs of h

Z A K took a step forward; Aaron was mortified. The demon was rampaging, grabbing at Zak's chest and neck, pleading to get out, but Zak pushed it back with all of his strength. Aaron wanted to cry out, but he kept his mouth shut and pushed himself against the wall, scooting as far away as possible.
Both could hear the defiant spirits rallying; they shouted and clanked glasses together, sharing booze and laughter, or so the two heard. Gun shots blazed right and left, leaving trails of smoke and loud popping noises. Aaron winced, remembering the previous encounter with the gunslingers. He heard them moving about angrily, c

A A R O N' S cane was gripped firmly in his hand as he slammed his body against the front door of the Birdcage Theatre. He felt a solid rush of pain and, at last, cringed away from the door. He looked around frantically, hoping to find a tool of some sort or an object he could utilize. He spotted bar stools, but he didn't have the balance to pick them up without his cane. He squeezed his leg angrily; the pain pierced his lower thigh: he was thinking about Zak.
His next step was picking the lock; he looked around once more, finding a small deck of cards; "I guess I can try the credit card trick." After placing a card into

Z A K woke coughing; he felt a damp washcloth constricting his head as his body lay motionless on a semi-comfortable bed: the birdcages, no doubt. His vision blurred, showing streaming lines of light and dark figures approaching and dispersing. Was he seeing the other side?
He looked slowly from left to right with confusion; his head throbbed and he found it hard to move. Zak screwed up his face, hoping to focus his vision. A tall, dark figure became apparent in the distance, and he wished to hoist himself up to have a loo

A A R O N' S eyes glued shut; his head throbbed and the deep breathing of the demon seemed to muffle. He felt sharp claws graze his neck, but he felt no pain; the demon's claws retracted, its grip slowly loosened as Aaron fell to the ground.
He landed with a thud, his eyes still closed shut. He was afraid to face it, the creature that had changed the way he thought about the paranormal. At long last he heard Zak's feet back away slowly, the demon's gasps still acute to his ear. Time stood still as Aaron entered himself, retreating into the very depths of his mind.
Am I dead?
He still felt the cold,

T H E Birdcage Theatre stood like a huge tidal wave over Nick and Zak's faces; the wave was bound to come crashing down, Zak felt, but Nick was tingling with anticipation.
"So this is it, huh?" Zak asked.
He was trying to initiate conversation, but Nick made it difficult.
"Yep. C'mon, let's unload our equipment and go find our tour guide," Nick replied.
Zak sighed and nodded his head; it was going to be a long night.
T H E Birdcage had a rustic feel to it; Zak could sense the presence of those who resided long ago hiding in glass display cases. The Theatre was the epitome
